In cooperation with the Norwegian Academy of Music, the Barratt Due Institute of Music offers an MA degree course in music
performance (principal instrument). The MA course aims to develop the artistic competence of students. The course is based
on the curriculum of the Norwegian Academy of Music but largely takes place at the institute. MA students work partly as a
separate group and are partly integrated into the institute’s
other activities. Strong emphasis is put on developing creativity, the ability to communicate, professional independence and
the ability to reflect.
A Bachelor’s degree is required in order to be eligible for enrolment in the Master’s programme.
Auditions take place in cooperation with the Norwegian Academy of Music in connection with its ordinary auditions for MA courses. Further information about the MA course may also be found on the Academy’s website (www.nmh.no).
